Hand Signals

Unlike motorized vehicles, bicyclists do not have the luxury of easily making their intentions known to everyone.

The most efficient way a bicyclist can make their movements predictable to other occupants is by hand signaling.

To indicate any kind of turning movements or stops the left hand/arm is going to be predominantly used.

To demonstrate, this illustration shows the proper execution of hand and arm motions that bicyclists use before making changes in their travel patterns. Should the use of hand signaling fail to announce your intentions, do not hesitate to shout or yell to alert fellow users.
