Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.
This month we’re celebrating all the ways people ride bikes. There are so many ways to celebrate Bike Month: with a commute during Bike to Work Week (and Day!), biking to coffee or around the block, or riding on May 5 for National Ride A Bike Day.
Whether you’re riding for fun, fitness or with family, or taking essential trips to work or shop, you are part of our movement for safer streets, connected communities, a healthier planet, and happier people.

During May, Commute PA is challenging organizations to race against one another to see who can record the most bike trips.
There will be weekly $25 Tango gift card winners and a $50 Tango gift card grand prize winner from the winning organization!
The more bike trips participants record, the more chances they have to win!

Track your car-free trips during National Bike Month, May 1-31, 2024. To get started, download the Commute PA app and join the Ride, Roll and Stroll event to track your trips. You can track your visits to selected 2024 Ride, Roll & Stroll Destinations as well as your day-to-day car-free trips! For each trip, you will receive a virtual raffle ticket to be entered to win awesome prizes from local businesses.
